Who I work with
Professionals building a life in Singapore who want their existing plans to fit the local system.

You may have relocated to Singapore on an Employment Pass, EntrePass or as a PR, and hold insurance, savings and investments, some arranged here, some from before you arrived. What is often unclear is how they fit together under Singapore's healthcare, protection and tax landscape.

My role is to help organise those moving parts into a clearer planning conversation, including what changes now that you are based here, and what should stay portable if you move on.

Why I do this
A personal experience prompted me to review my own planning.

After my father passed away, my family began looking more closely at our financial arrangements. Reviewing my own policies showed me that owning policies and understanding how they work together are different things.

I started as a Financial Consultant in February 2026. I bring a structured learning discipline and a systems-and-risk perspective from my earlier work at sea and in technology.

Where I come from
Two years at sea shaped how I think about risk.

Before finance, I spent two years on commercial container ships and a year at GovTech. I didn't know yet that this is where I'd land, but each step left me better equipped for it.

That experience shaped a structured approach: clarify the situation, identify priorities, review existing resources and consider the longer horizon.

Life at sea
Two years at sea taught me how routines, systems and preparation support sound decisions under pressure.
🛡️
Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity work taught me to translate technical risks into practical decisions and clear next steps.
What this means for you
Risk-first thinking, applied to your finances.

A background in risk and systems shapes everything about how I work.

I think in systems, not products
I first clarify your circumstances, existing resources and priorities. Any recommendation requires a separate documented review.
I treat risk seriously
I consider protection needs, essential commitments and existing arrangements before discussing longer-term planning.
I translate, not confuse
I translate technical information into questions, trade-offs and next steps that can be discussed clearly.
I plan for the long horizon
A ship doesn't plan one voyage at a time, and I don't think your finances should either. I help you consider your longer-term goals alongside the affordability of your commitments today.
My planning framework
Anchor. Ascend. Transcend.

I call this stewardship. The “tsw” in my name is also my initials, Tan Shi Wei. The framework starts with foundations, then considers accumulation and important arrangements. It is a way to organise the conversation, not a diagnosis or recommendation.

01
Anchor
The floor everything else stands on
🛟
Protection
Reviewing your dependants' needs, financial commitments and existing protection arrangements.
💼
Income protection
Considering how essential expenses could be met if illness or disability interrupted your income.
🏥
Health
Reviewing your healthcare preferences, existing arrangements and potential out-of-pocket costs.
💧
Emergency fund
Considering accessible savings for unexpected essential expenses, with the amount guided by your circumstances.
02
Ascend
Building wealth, once the floor is solid
📈
Wealth accumulation
Reviewing your savings and investment goals alongside your time horizon, liquidity needs and ability to bear losses. Investments involve risk, including possible loss of capital.
03
Transcend
Making sure it goes where you intend
📜
Estate & legacy
Keeping an up-to-date record of important documents and the people your family should contact. This is a general planning prompt, not a will-writing, trust or CPF nomination service. These services are not provided by PACS; consult a qualified legal professional for wills and trusts, and CPF Board for matters on CPF nomination.

Review the situation
A separate planning session documents relevant circumstances, goals, commitments and existing resources.
3
Consider the next step
Any options are explained with their assumptions, trade-offs and suitability considerations before you decide how to proceed.
